trailer for new duncan jones movie [source code]

When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he's part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. In an assignment unlike any he's ever known, he learns he's part of a government experiment called the "Source Code," a program that enables him to cross over into another man's identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. With a second, much larger target threatening to kill millions in downtown Chicago, Colter re-lives the incident over and over again, gathering clues each time, until he can solve the mystery of who is behind the bombs and prevent the next attack. Source Code hits theaters on April 15th, 2011.

deep, deep, deeper

We have been here before you, we haven't seen it coming, so you shouldn't see it either. We're already past this. You're not. Brace yourself. Just like freefall, only without wind, air and a parachute of arabesque joviality. Patterns are similar. No third-person view, no watch-my-back camera. We will watch you bleed away in approval and discontent. You will rise again anyway. Most probably, only without a sense of urgency and various traits, all connected to a storage unit still unlit, unbranded and debatably, unsigilized. Your search criteria haven't returned any significant, intelligible or relevant hits. With no search initiated, wonder why it hasn't. Wherever you think the bottom is, it's generally much, much lower. You'll know when you hit rock bottom. That very, very fundamental and hard moment of super-certainty.

norwegian tourism done well (7.5 hours worth of DJ mix!)

No doubt you are wondering what's all this about. In short: a group of dedicated djs who found a new family at DI.fm forums decided to put together a soundtrack for this beautiful 7 hour footage of the famous Bergensbanen line in Norway. There are 13 segments in total with 13 different ideas of a perfect soundtrack. If you enjoyed this video please share it with your friends. (railway relay youtube playlist, railway relay on houseonhudson.net)

The Norwegian documentary Bergensbanen details the gorgeous 300-mile, 7.5-hour-long train ride from Bergen to Oslo. An intrepid group of DJs have scored the entire journey, which traverses the frozen region of Finse (a.k.a. Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back). (via io9)

the world's first hdr video

This video highlights several clips we've made using our new High Dynamic Range (HDR) process. Video is captured on two Canon 5D mark II DSLRs, each capturing the exact same subject via a beam splitter. The cameras are configured so that they record different exposure values, e.g., one camera is overexposed, the other underexposed. After the footage has been recorded, we use a variety of HDR processing tools to combine the video from the two cameras. (via gizmodo)

Saturday early morning is perfect for digging through bookmarks, deleting dozens of them and posting what still looks interesting after weeks. So it's not exactly a new one but it still looks amazing, especially that the dream-like fog effect renders everything into a simile of Grand Theft Auto IV. Enjoy.

skynet symphonic (terminator 2 remix)

Comprising nothing but small sounds recorded from the James Cameron masterpiece 'Terminator 2: Judgement Day', 'Skynet Symphonic' is my tribute to one of the greatest action features of all time! Each section is composed entirely of sounds from a major scene in the film. For example, the Terminator pounding on the fire escape door is used as a kick drum. Bones breaking play the role of a snare. Electrical disturbance acts as a crash cymbal. (as recommended by @dawe_)

state of mind - sun king (original video)

There were times when Sun King got us through the harder days, then yesterday we came across the fusion of sunshine-induced drum'n'bass, Svankmajer and your recollection of an average Tool video. With a touch of The Cathedral in it. Directed by Aleks Sakowski. (Another touch of perfection straight from New Zealand!)

futuristic and functional: jövődivat és divatjövő (fashion video festival, budapest)

Nem hiszek a jövőben, maradjunk a trendelemzésnél, valahol itt kezdődik a húsz képkockás, képenként 20 másodperces Pecha Kucha-style előadás a Ludwig Múzeum első emeletén. A Fashion Video Festival, súgok csendben Baksa Zsófinak, Abodi Dórának és a projekten dolgozó többi pre-master buildernek - legyen jövőre is megtartva, az előadásblokkot leszámítva lecsúsztam mindenről, a divatvideók utolsó negyedórájára sikerült csak beesni a vetítőbe. A Tokióból lányszöktetett Pecha Kucha-előadások lüktetése egészen hangulatos mindvacuumot húz körénk, Kömlődi a Neurománctól a Cyberdogig húzza fel a foncsorozott napszemüveges-neonfényes tinédzserek ruhatudatát, összebólintunk Vágó Rékával a terem két túlsó feléből a cipő-prototípusokhoz használt, betoncipő kényelmességű poliamidon, gyönyörű ellenpontba kerülünk Kóti Rékával a high-tech fashion és a low-tech lomo miatt, elámulunk Visnyovszky János rendkívül jó hangulatú fashionvideo-gyorstalpalóján és végigbólogatjuk Steiner Kristóf, Cseh Gábor, Kiss Bence Ádám és Mojzes Dóri előadásait a londoni trendváltásról, a divat 2.0-ról és a Bug projectről.
Ilyeneket. Akarunk. Még. (Amúgy katt beljebb, ott az előadás anyaga.)

#musicmonday: you sent it (draft, ludmilla, reverse t.a.t.u.)

Go make rock!

UPDATE 1: A link to the weird T.A.T.U. material added!

qr: bkv fail

bangkok knockout long trailer

Tényleg nem hiányzik sok ahhoz, hogy megjöjjön az ihlet a thai akciófilmes kiajánló (megajánló, beajánló) második részéhez, addig egyétek szeretettel ezt, tippforrás: Empe.

tron legacy: trailer 3

Tron Legacy is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that's unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father's disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin's loyal confidant (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.

mondo fotózás: behind the scenes, 2010 december

this is how half-life 3 might look like

Note this isn't an official concept piece or anything; Benson is simply an animator who likes to keep a very public sketchbook, so if you've begun penning angry letters to Valve, you can stop and take a deep breath. (via kotaku)

♫ the blade runner hardstyle anthem #musicmonday

The remix of a remix, the original being ♫ Vangelis' Rachel's Song off the Blade Runner OST, the remix being ♫ Angel by The Nasty Boyz and the remix of the remix is above, the Ivan Carsten Vocal Symphony Mix, being on for quite a few times during the past days on Q-Dance Radio, so I thought it'd be fun to share. (Especially that it claimed the top played song on last.fm pretty fast.) Wake up, wake up.

secret cinema: the blade runner event

Secret Cinema is a club with 60,000 members and more than 30,000 Facebook followers. Each month, a film is screened in an undisclosed location, transporting people into what some suggest is a 'surreal reality'. The founder of Secret Cinema Fabien Riggall says he feels it is important that the audience becomes part of the event. (via bbc.co.uk)

It’s like an elaborate cosplay event, a midnight screening of Rocky Horror and a candle-lit Cinespia cemetery screening picnic got thrown into a blender together with tens of thousands in sponsorship funding from Windows Phone (?!), and the incredible clip above was the result. (via coilhouse via m1k3y, image above comes from the event's Flickr set shot by mike mike mike)

sucker punch: hotties with guns, swords and snyderesque slowmo

And just as how it should be, Zack Snyder films an hour worth of material, and then skillfully pulls it to a decent movie length with overexcessive but gratifyingly cozy slow motion. Yet another movie about disappearing into our private mind fortresses when we can't properly handle reality anymore. Just as in McMorrow's Franklyn or Del Toro's El laberinto del fauno or, in a way, Nic Balthazar's amazing but obscure Ben X. Anyway. Movie's released to the theaters on March 25, 2011.

switchblade symphony on reality check tv, 1996

From an era when well-behaved witches still had their daily intake of Tina Root on factory-pressed CDs in their threatening but also adoringly fashionable purses of DOOM and WOE. We are living now in times that tell us that the Schoolgirl Lolita, whoever she really is (being an American God or not) needs a new heir, Tina Root (of above-mentioned and also presently very defunct Switchblade Symphony) now out the stage window and Chibi slowly but definitely losing the schoolgirl look since the Video Kid... video. I know it sounded bad. There is a punishment due later on with bukkake loa and that little dwarf with antlers that are actually dildos, they just look antlers. And a pair of Argentina steak sisters. Blindfolded and Chuck Norrised back into existence. But I digress. So all in all, we have a goddess in pop culture if you haven't noticed and her grandiose name is Schoolgirl Lolita. And her devotees might have a knack for using the Hello Kitty Tarot. Or tentacles. For divining, of course. I feel a very drugged-out and outworldish mythology coming up. Whatever I regurgitate, there's a novel coming up. I need inspiration, then something I call inspiration but it definitely doesn't count as such. And then, a paycheck. So, enjoy. Switchblade Symphony was actually a great band. Rest in peace. Get the DVD.
