If you’re on Twitter and you’re into hard SF/cyberpunk, you’re probably aware of the gossip that William Gibson is tweeting under the pseudonym @GreatDismal. How he writes on his books/blog and how he tweets are two completely different things, so we dug into friendlists of Bruce Sterling, Richard Kadrey, Pat Cadigan and other writers just to get more confused. Not anymore. William Gibson, pope of cyberpunk confesses in his blog: he really is on Twitter.

I’ve been on Twitter for a little while now. Under the nom-de-twit GreatDismal (no space). I had not much of an idea what Twitter was, when I first went there, so signed in under a flag of convenience. Still have no idea what it is, or where it’s going, but will hang on to GreatDismal for simplicity’s sake. At some point I might figure out how to incorporate it here, but then again maybe not.
